75 years ago Mrs Griffith started the Girlguides in St Andrews, Killyman. This year has been a celebration to mark this great milestone. We have had a special Service in church lead by Rev Chris Broddle and planted a tree which has been registered with The Queen’s Green Canopy commemorating Queen Elizabeth 11’s Diamond Jubilee in 2022.
On Friday 21st April we held a reunion night which was well attended by members young and old. Some of the attendees were in the roll book from the very first night. Everyone enjoyed looking through memorabilia and so much reminiscing was going on. We also had our Tyrone County Commissioner, Mrs Helen McCullough in attendance at each event. Well done to Roberta Capper and her team of helpers who made this all possible.
Thank you to leaders, past and present for being an example to all the girls who have gone through girl guides and continue to create a safe space for girls to grow.
